This weeks homepage update is a little bland... Instead of pictures, we opted for videos that show each puppy in action! This is such a magical time, as they experience so many "first." We wanted to make sure you got a glimpse of their wobbly little legs, wagging tails, and tiny little faces.
The puppies started food last week and that was a major hit. Not a single puppy questioned or seemed reluctant about trying the new food source and it didn't take long for them to recognize the sound of food being scooped up and poured into the metal dishes. Believe it or not, we even started house training this week! So far, we're off to an excellent start... especially considering the size of the litter! Check out those individual blogs! I know I'm bias, but they are SO cute!

All you need is love... and a dog! We have been using this sign for four week pictures for nearly EIGHT years. These pictures are always some of my favorites.
Today, the puppies got their first taste of fresh air and sunshine. Some puppies confidently began exploring as soon as we set them down. Others took sometime time to check out their surroundings before moving around! Four weeks is exciting. It means they are beginning to play and interact with people, learning to communicate, and they are half way ready to head to their forever homes! The fun part is about to begin and we couldn't be more excited! Sadie's six are continuing do well. Now that their eyes and ears are wide open, they have been exploring all of the toys in the whelping box... their current favorites are sibling ears and tails! Ha! Ha! They really are so fun to watch. I'm working hard to get a video, but it never fails, the fun stops as soon as the camera comes out!
Can you believe how much can change in 7 short days? They have all grown so much and are hitting their milestones right on track.
With eyes wide open, they are crawling around, starting to interact with each other, and can spot mom all the way across the room! They already make the best cuddlers and were very chill about being taken out of the whelping room to join the family in the living room for a photoshoot!
Our puppy piles are growing... Everyone has grown so much, we upgraded our elastic whelping bands to real collars! I'm not sure how it's possible, but the collars really take the cuteness level up a notch!
We are 2.5 weeks old now and doing great! All eyes are wide open and the puppy scoot is evolving into a crawl as their little legs get stronger! We are loving watching them learn and grow... and it only gets better from here! Sadie's six are all doing fantastic! Everyone's eyes and ears are open and they were super snuggly for today's photoshoot. We love seeing those baby blue eyes looking back at us.
We have been calling them our "hungry hungry hippos." They are as round as can be and never miss a chance to eat. Ha! Ha! Stella's pack will be two weeks old tomorrow! It's been another quiet week. Their eyes are starting to peek open, little pink noses are turning black/brown, and they are all growing rapidly right before our eyes!
Stella is the sweetest mama! She never stops feeding, cleaning, and cuddling her little crew. These babies definitely know love and we are looking forward to showering them with even more love once they are a little more mobile! For now, as hard as it is, we'll let them do most of their cuddling with their mama and littermates. Six sweet sleeping siblings!
Tomorrow marks one week with these little cuties! The time is already flying by. The first week was quiet. Sadie rarely leaves whelping box and it's a good things, because these babies were definitely born hungry! Ha! Ha! It's pretty rare for us to walk in and not find at least the majority eating. We are looking forward to eyes and ears opening soon! We are celebrating our one week birthday a day early this week!
Stella's 13 are all doing wonderful. The first week was pretty uneventful. Stella and the pups spent their days snuggled up, eating/feeding, and napping. It was very calm and quiet week around here... Which are funny adjectives to use when talking about 13 puppies.... Let's see how we describe the time in about 4 weeks. Ha! Ha! This week we are looking forward to eyes and ears opening up! Once that happens, I'll get videos of everyone, post to the blog, and puppy selections will begin. :) |
